FIMAST sees 20% increase in exhibitor registrations

FIMAST, the leading European exhibition for hosiery machinery is reporting a 20% increase in exhibitor registrations for this year's show which takes place in Brescia from 17-20 September.

Organisers of the leading Italian trade fair FIMAST (International Textile Machinery and Accessories Trade Show), which opens its doors to the industry from 17-20 September 2014, are reporting a 20% increase in exhibition space uptake compared to the last show in 2012.

“We got real satisfaction from FIMAST and unexpected feedback. The 2014 edition has now been exceeded by 20% the number of companies of 2012 edition,” organisers said in a statement this morning.

In addition to the increase in booked exhibition space, participation by foreign companies is also said to be up by 42%, confirmation, organisers say, that FIMAST has become more international.

“ To point out the enthusiastic foreign market participation: the organizing secretary reported a more than 42% of new foreign companies in comparison of 2012, as confirmation of FIMAST internationalization,” FIMAST organisers said.

 where it hopes to prove that the Italian and European hosiery machine building industry is still a dynamic force to be reckoned with and that the Brescia based exhibition is a viable and desirable alternative to FAST which ceased to exist after it was last held in 2005.

This year for the first time FIMAST has opened its doors to producers of socks and hosiery. The sock knitters and hosiery brands will have a specially dedicated area at the Brescia show which is being held at the Centro Fiera Internazionale.

Machinery exhibitors

Machinery and equipment suppliers already confirmed as exhibitors at FIMAST include:

Cesare Colosio SPA, B.T.S.R. International SPA, T&T Technical & Techstyle Service, Mesdan SPA, Tinarelli srl, M.I.L. Meccanotessile Internazionale Lonati srl, Heliot International (Turkey), Christoph Liebers (Germany), Memminger-Iro (Germany), Merz (Germany), Nagata (Japan), Dakong (Taiwan).

Visitors and exhibitors will enjoy workshops in cooperation with Centro Servizi Calze e Promos Milano and the forum will tackle topics as: product traceability; financing companies for 2014/2020 with the Horizon 2020 program; new industry regulations and corresponding adaptation. Admission is free but preregistration on the FIMAST website is required.

FIMAST hopes to prove that the Italian and European hosiery machine building industry is still a dynamic force to be reckoned with and that the Brescia based exhibition is a viable and desirable alternative to FAST which ceased to exist after it was last held in 2005.

FIMAST is a specialised trade fair, which will have a particular emphasis on technologies for the production of socks and hosiery.  Organisers say that FIMAST means ‘living close to new trends, new markets and world leading specialists in the field for four days’.

FIMAST 2014 will show the very best of the textile sector to trade members, international buyers, designers and stylists who work with the most important fashion brands that look forward to learning more about the latest industrial technologies.

According to organisers FIMAST is the most important event in order to get contacts and new solutions for a more economical and creative production in Italy: the heart of European production tradition.
