Leading Italian knitting and hosiery machinery builder Santoni has launched a brand new flat lock seaming system which can be utilized on its Santoni Line Closer and Gusset Line Closer to automatically assemble tights (pantyhose) with a very high level of elasticity and a superior quality appearance.

The patented flat lock seaming system, which was unveiled at Santoni’s Open House exhibition held at the company’s Brescia headquarters from 26 – 29 September, will be known as the Santoni Flat Lock.

The new sewing system was one of the highlights of the week in Brescia where a total of four individual exhibitions took place. Santoni’s show took place alongside Lonati’s Open House and the FIMAST (International Textile Machinery and Accessories Trade Show) and a Rumi private exhibition of hosiery machinery.

The patented Santoni Flat Lock which uses a standard 3 needle Union Special 9M flat lock sewing head was demonstrated on the company’s GLC36 SP/DP + TC2 - automatic U-seaming and diamond gusseting machine connected to the Toe Closer.

Speaking at the Santoni exhibition, Fabrizio Paleologo, Santoni’s Finishing Machines Sales Manager told Knitting Industry:
