Garment produced on the DJ 4/2 sets trends in fashion

24 July 2009 - Swing, cigarettes in long holders, evening bags in gold lame, an extravagant, glitzy wardrobe with feathers, champagne and, of course, caviar in excess – the glamour of the twenties has competition, and the current crisis is guilty.

As before, when the stock market prices on Wall Street plummeted into an abyss, trendy society is reacting with celebrations and style. A deja-vu in time and fashion. The bohemian is celebrating a rebirth – embroidered dresses with fringes and sequins conceal the anxiety felt about tomorrow, pearls opulently decorate the slim neck and sexy, transparent top garments opulent with lace and many perforations divert a gaze strained by reality to a more attractive side of life.

The warp-knitted garment featured here has succeeded in giving a particularly original interpretation of the look inspired by the twenties. The aubergine-coloured sweater combines a puristic net design with dainty fringes, and hence nostalgia effectively with modern trends. An extravagant homage to the 'olden days' which is further emphasized by the boat collar held by the elastic border and tape.

The borders at the neck, body and sleeves stand out as solid, broad trimmings against the open-pore design of the ground fabric, shape the garment closely to the body, and culminate in a filigree fringe edging – and this with no extra making-up costs.

The garment has been manufactured in one piece on the DJ 4/2 and is completely seamless. The nostalgy-evoking garment is produced non-stop, accurately and extremely efficiently, from the net pattern with its oval, variously-dimensioned apertures to the last lace border, from the shoulder-emphasizing collar to the trimming over the behind. Thus the efficient, two-bar raschel machine has become a valuable item for securing the future for all those who roll up their sleeves in times of crisis instead of their silk stockings
