Leading hosiery companies to meet at FIMAST

From advanced textile machinery to sustainable yarns, and from customized automation to 3D inlay footwear, the FIMAST exhibition runs from 19-22 October 2021.

Yarns, production technologies, machinery, services and accessories -  the entire hosiery supply chain will meet at the Brixia Forum in Brescia, Italy for FIMAST 2021, the Italian Exhibition Group's B2B trade show scheduled for 19-22 October, featuring new products, innovative services and advanced technological solutions.

Among the confirmed exhibitors are numerous leading companies in the textile machinery sector, a Made in Italy industry strongly characterized by innovation which in 2020 reached a turnover of EUR 1.8 billion and which counts 12,900 employees and about 300 companies, mostly concentrated in the Brescia district. *

Lonati and Santoni

Among these, are Lonati Group, world leader in the textile machinery sector, whose machines cover almost all of the world production of women's socks, 60% of men's and children's socks, 90% of sportswear and seamless 60% knits. The Brescia group will be at the fair with two companies: Lonati, the technological and market leader in the manufacture of hosiery machines that boasts the largest range of systems for the sector on the market, and; Santoni, a global leader in electronic circular machines for seamless garments, which satisfies 95% of the world demand for underwear, sportswear, beachwear, outerwear, medical wear and knitted outerwear.

“Santoni will present at FIMAST, new technologies for the production of socks with knitted and terry structures, even three-dimensional and with the possibility of inlay closed toe, seamless,” organisers IEG say.

Cesare Colosio

Cesare Colosio, a Brescia-based company which has been manufacturing socks machinery for 60 years, will be at the fair with an innovative and unique machine for the production of 3D inlay footwear.

“A revolutionary technology that allows you to create, in a single step and without wasting raw material, an upper with holes, eyelets and laces, without seams, versatile and declinable to infinite combinations of types of yarn and colour,” IEG adds.

“The shoes produced, technical and performing, are suitable for the most diverse sports disciplines, from running to football, from climbing to free time.” The company has obtained seven different patents on mechanical systems and textile processes to produce the upper, in order to protect its know-how in Italy and abroad, where it sells 95% of its production.

Autotex Italia

Also present at the IEG exhibition will be Autotex Italia, a leader on the international market in the production of ironing machines and industrial packaging machines for the hosiery sector. The Borgosatollo based company, in the province of Brescia, designs and manufactures a wide range of packaging machines for textile items, as well as components related to the biomedical, cosmetic and automotive sectors. The company, which exports mainly to China and the United States, offers flexible and customized automation solutions based on customer needs.

Fibres and yarns

The yarn segment, connected to the Mantua district, will also bring leading companies in the sector to the trade show, such as Sina Filati Fashion Yarn, which markets quality yarns for the hosiery, knitwear, underwear and seamless sectors.

At FIMAST, the Mantuan company will present all of its production, from spool yarns of any material and colour, thanks to the colour development laboratory with proprietary dyeing, up to the finished products of knitwear, hosiery and sneaker uppers. These will include eco-friendly nylon or polyester yarns from pre-consumer (related to the production process) and post-consumer (obtained from the product at the end of its life) recycling process.

FIMAST will take place in maximum safety, thanks to the application of the #SAFEBUSINESS by IEG protocol and GBAC STAR accreditation by IEG, the global program for international standards of cleaning, sanitation, and prevention of infectious risks for staff in exhibition environments.

FIMAST, the international tradeshow dedicated to the entire hosiery industry is a biennial B2B event now in its fifth edition. It will be held in the Brixia Forum Expo Center in Brescia (Italy). Opening hours are  from Tuesday to Thursday, 19-21 October 2021, from 9am to 6pm; and Friday 22 October from 9am to 2 pm.

Unique in Italy for the sector, it offers the latest world news on textile machines for socks and hosiery. Thanks to the presence of large hosiery factories, it opens scenarios for the major yarn producers in the key districts of this sector in Italy: in Brescia, the headquarters of the main machinery district for this type of article, and in Mantua for the finished product.
