Born in Vienna on 5th January 1970, Esther Lorber comes from a family of entrepreneurs operating in the design sector.

Her spontaneous love and sensibility for beauty and form, which she absorbed within the family from her earliest childhood, urged her to study fashion design. In 1988 she won a competition for young talents produced by the International Wool Secretariat presenting a wool garment and thus showing her interest and appreciation of the extraordinary natural qualities of this fibre.

In 1989 after getting her diploma from the Modeschule Hetzendorf Institute, she moved to Italy to start her career as a designer. She chose to specialise in knitwear, taking up courses on machinery such as Stoll and Shima in order to better understand its potential.

Thanks to her many varied and stimulating working experiences, she is today a freelance designer heading a lively and busy office, highly valued by various companies in the textile sector at an international level and within the world of fashion. Amongst others, she has been in charge of men’s and women’s knitwear collections by international fashion company Bally for three years.

In 2002 Esther Lorber launched her own knitwear collection, "esteph 365". Its name and the "easy to wear" concept are meant to synthesise a philosophy, both stylistic and conceptual, promoting the ideal of a collection beyond seasons.

She designs men’s and women’s knitwear and garments collections and enjoys very much the presentations to her clients, since she is very keen on establishing direct and personal contact with them, speaking as she does fluent English and Italian besides her native German.

She also deals with the world of interior decoration, working for specialistic trade fairs such as “Heimtex” and “Domotex”. For world famous “Première Vision” and “Moda In” she collaborates in the forum on colour trends.

Her activity for Woolmark is undoubtedly her main and most fulfilling occupation, consisting in the creation the material for the trend and colour forecast, taking care of everything from concepts to graphics, artwork and final presentation. More.
