Creating an eco-system within the framework of Unitex has been the goal since the company was founded, as sound sustainability at all levels of the supply chain have been established.

Creating quality performance for the active and outdoor market defines the company’s latest circular and warp knit collection, which will be showcased at the ISPO show in Munich (booth C2.119-1) from 28-30 November. In addition, Unitex has collaborated with international trend consultant Louisa Smith, in creating a digital trend book for Autumn/Winter 25/26.

Collaboration

The Unitex x Louisa Smith collaboration highlights the company's latest developments in single and double knits, with the core focus placed on sustainability. Four trends have been defined, embracing the attitude of the modern-day consumer, taking into account the continuous rise in performance-driven knit fabrics for active living.

What is clear is that the company is invested in sustainable solutions from the ground up, it isn't enough to just use sustainable ingredients, sustainability has to be embedded throughout the entire manufacturing process.

Global partnerships

Forming global partnerships with the major premium ingredients from Hyosung to HeiQ, and Nilit to Sorona, has be instrumental in delivering transparency and traceability with accredited performance and sustainability. Not just reliant on the premium brand ingredients used, the company has an impressive display of accreditations, from Oeko-Tex and Global Recycled Standard to Roadmap and Zero.

The circular and warp knit collections for Autumn/Winter 25/26 embrace cleaner processes, with dope dyed yarns, bio-based and recycled synthetics through to permanent performance embedded in the yarns – breathable, high abrasion, odour management, printable, quick dry, stretch, UV protection 50+, cooling, heating and others.

Cleaner processing of textiles

Since its formation in 2012, the Fuzhou-based factory has been built up with all areas focused on a cleaner textile process. Utilising renewable energy in the form of wind turbines, and solar panels that cover the factory buildings roofs, is an integral part of Unitex’ sustainable story, receiving the award for the China National Level Green factory in 2022.

Whilst sustainability is crucial to Unitex in knitting a green future, so is corporate social responsibility, as a mentoring scheme encourages young employees, not to just work a position, but contribute views and ideas they may have in growing the company as a team.

Investing in the most efficient equipment globally, from Karl Mayer machines to Italian Danitech's water-saving dyeing machines and Datacolor lab technology, the entire supply chain has some form of sustainable solutions, from the electric transport at the textile plant to the recycled card used for the sample headers for the sample collection.

The Unitex’ fabric development is diverse, with intimate apparel and swimwear markets a major part of the company’s business. With ongoing developments in performance ingredient brands, the aim is to create sustainable textile solutions with creativity and performance.
