The organisers of the leading swimwear, beachwear and athleisure fabrics show MarediModa, have taken action to switch the location of the upcoming show, due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The forthcoming edition of MarediModa, scheduled from 3-5 November 2020, will now be held at Villa Erba, Cernobbio, on the shores of the beautiful Lake Como in Northern Italy.

“We had been confident until a few days ago - to carry out our traditional event in Cannes at the Palais des Festivals, even with the difficult problem of COVID19,” commented Claudio Taiana, President of MarediModa.

“The recent provisions from the French government of 22nd September had made us think that we would have risked cancelling the event and to jeopardize the work of a whole year. We also realized that there was no condition to hold the show in Cannes in total safety, also in the light of the mandatory quarantine for people back to Italy from France,” Mr Taiana said.

“An emergency board has been called immediately and, in a few days, of great and busy work by our staff, we identified Villa Erba as an alternative location for the show,” he continued.

“MarediModa has proved to be extreme reactive and flexible to design a trade show for exhibitors and visitors in respect of every safety major. For this edition we forgo the extraordinary Palais des Festivals, which has been accompanying us all these years and exceptionally we have chosen an equally fascinating venue, which we are sure will be appreciated by all our guests as well.”

For the first time in its history, MarediModa, the tradeshow of fabrics and accessories for beachwear, underwear and athleisure, is held in Italy, at Villa Erba on the Como Lake, in one of the most evocative location of our country and setting of important international events, the organisers said in a statement

Maximum attention to every safety measure, even the smallest, is being taken to allow a dynamic working situation for everybody’s health. The access to the show will be designed in the maximum respect of the distancing and usability, organisers stress.

“The undisputed stars of the event will be the 2022 collections of fabrics and accessories, the new design studio’s proposals and private label companies. Trend forum guided tours and trend presentation 2022 by David Shah are confirmed as well as the usual MarediModa agenda. The Link contest is temporarily changing its format without forgoing its essential features. A special space of the tradeshow will be dedicated to the fashion designers’ collections who have entered the finals of the contest with captivating projects to be discovered during MarediModa Villa Erba Como – Italy,” the organisers conclude.
