Briefs requiring very little making-up, produced on the ML 35 C

Work on developing underwear having fewer seams is continuing at KARL MAYER. Last year, a bra with an integrated band in the under-bra section and a snugly fitting edge along the plunging neckline, made from a fabric produced on the ML 35 C, was presented.

The matching briefs have now been developed, and these are also designed to have the fewest possible number of seams. The bra and briefs come as a set and are patterned with the same design, i.e. a checked pattern at the sides and a flower motif with a modern, abstract look in the front section. The openings in the briefs are formed with a striped zone, in which a stronger elastane yarn is processed than in the ground.

The stretch fabric follows the contours of the female shape down to the gusset, and the garment can be made up without complicated cutting procedures or seams. An even stronger elastane yarn is used for the body opening, and means that separate elastic tapes do not have to be attached. The item is removed from the panel along the edges and joined together in the bottom section. The gusset is then inserted and the garment is finished in short, the briefs are easy to make and comfortable to wear.

The edges of the briefs fit snugly and do not show under the garment worn on top; they do not pucker or pinch and the entire look is extremely seductive. The fabric for producing this perfectly fitting garment was also produced on an ML 35 C raschel machine. This multibar raschel machine was designed to produce patterned stretch and non-stretch lace. The string bars can work shog paths of 170 needles and multiple yarn guides are used, which enables a wide range of different patterns to be produced. One of the main features of the machine is that it can seamlessly incorporate specific stretch zones - when working the leg and body openings of the briefs shown here, for example.
