Circular and warp knitter Unitex has launched its Fall/Winter 26/27 Trendbook in a collaboration with international trend consultant Louisa Smith. The partnership brings a wealth of insights and expertise to the trends presented.

Four trends define the season, each a testament to the innovation and expertise of the Unitex R&D team. Their developments, incorporating premium brand ingredients, are a mark of quality. Louisa's input on global consumers' attitudes and design direction further enhances the confidence in the on-trend products that apparel brands can deliver.

The four trend directions for Fall/Winter 26/27 include:

Away Game: The focus falls directly on the consumer's desire for versatility and high-level performance. It's about stepping away from the comfort of home to explore the great outdoors or the urban landscape. The trend includes bio-synthetics, dope dyes, and recycled ocean waste, offering new flexibility and efficiency to apparel. With WFH being replaced by a return to the office (RTO), the consumer is looking for 24/7 performance to get them through their commute to after-work activities.

Incognito: A trend that tricks the eye, as circular and warp knits emerge with built-in performance. They mimic the traditional structure of classic wovens but with the added advantage of comfortable fit in mono fabrics for circularity. The trend also tackles the problem of microfiber pollution by including biodegradable synthetics. This unique combination of features, including the comfortable fit and the eco-friendly materials, makes the 'Incognito' trend a must-explore in the Fall/Winter 26/27 season.

Stimulus: Disco diva iridescence mood features on the surface, uplifting the mood. Gym-wear goes disco with a dazzling surface and permanent sheen on high-level performance, while other matte offerings have a built-in function that enhances the wearer's performance. A key development here is the introduction of the new PFC-free yarn, which creates knits that let water bead off the surface, perfect for winter running and snow sports.

Natural Ambition: The 'Slow Movement' trend, a significant shift towards eco-consciousness and well-being, is a key focus for the Fall/Winter 26/27 season. It caters to the consumer looking for mental and physical fitness combined with an urgent approach to well-being. Self-care isn't selfish, and through this trend, nature inspires through touch, as air-textured yarns deliver a rawness to organically inspired surface effects. Bio-based heat-generating synthetics feature in this trend - beautiful to the touch, lightweight, and airy but perfectly thermally regulating. This trend is not just a fashion statement, but a lifestyle choice that inspires and motivates.

Having recently been accepted as a Bluesign System Partner to complement the existing global accreditations already achieved, Unitex continues its responsible textile

manufacturing. The investment in R&D, introducing additional premium brand ingredients to its portfolio, as well as continuing to grow the green-level factory for the highest level of sustainability, allows for complete transparency through the supply chain, an added advantage to brands, as compliance is now key.
